Missions 2013, Report #1: Philippine Arrival

SAM_2498Hello all,

My 16 hours in flight, with one two hour stop-over in Korea after 11 1/2 hours, to Manila went without a hitch on Jan. 31 at 11pm (your pacific coast time of 7am….16 hr difference). Concerning my flight, “I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust” (Ps 91:2).

That says it all, doesn’t it?

There are to key phrases here in bold type and underlined:  “I will say….,”  and “I will trust….”  I realize this is not exactly “Rocket Science,” but I simply want to encourage myself as well as others to “LOOK INSIDE” every verse of God’s word when we read it.  Then, and only then, can we call it “study.”  The Bible says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God….” (2 Tim. 2:15).  Along with this “study” comes another key ingredient for us to GROW the SPIRIT MAN; hence, leaving the soulish man to succumb to the depths of irrelevance to a son’s (Grk. Huios) walk with the Lord…that word is meditation.”  This was the word the Lord used when informing Joshua what was needed in order to become successful….not in man’s world, but rather God’s.

Now back to Psalms 91.  Notice the “I will” is common to both say,” and trust.” This is an emphatic statement of determination and responsibility to achieve the desired results. In the first “I will” the Psalmist is saying that he is determined to “say” something…..and that he was responsible for what he says!  In order to “say” something one must use “words,” and James tells us that “words” can either produce LIFE…or produce DEATH.  So it is the responsibility of the speaker to choose “WORDS” that will produce life changing RESULTS.  *THIS IS A PRINCIPLE IN EVERY ASPECT OF OUR LIFE ON EARTH.
In the second “I will” the Psalmist is saying that he is determined to “trust” the Lord for the word’s he just spoke…..and that he was responsible to stand in faith regardless of CIRCUMSTANCES!
So, in conclusion then, this is what David penned,  I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.
Please allow me to put this another way based upon the afore mentioned analysis:  “These words will I speak to my Lord…in faith…that He is my refuge; He is my fortress…and He is my God; therefore I WILL put my total trust, faith, and reliance on Him regardless of circumstances of what I see, or feel….from which there is no shadow of turning.”

I want to thank everyone for all the prayer support and financial support….of which the lack of either one would make this trip unproductive. Therefore, as a partner in this ministry there is a reward stored in your heavenly account as if you had gone yourself.  THANK YOU!

In Christ we serve,

Wayne & Sarah, Servants of the Most High
